Chinese generation Z (post-00s) are about to confront career decisions as the first batch of post-00s graduates. However, current career studies rarely take the post-00s, the liveliest group with characteristics of the era, as research subjects to investigate their beliefs, attitudes, values, motivation, career behavior, etc. Existing studies focused on the status quo of post-00s career education without dynamically studying the career development process from college to graduation. This study performed big data analysis, using the dynamic topic model (DTM), combing the golden triangle theory to study the career development of the post-00s in China. We summarized the “connection between individuals and others” as a new dimension and tried to propose a corrected theoretical model of the “golden triangle” that can help the post-00s make sustainable career decisions. Barleria cristata L., commonly known as the Philippine violet, is native to South Asia. It is an ornamental plant and is also used for the treatment of a variety of diseases. In India, it is found throughout the country in many forms, varying in its floral attributes (calyx and corolla) and habitat. In order to understand the species limits in B. cristata, we studied morphological as well as palynological variation and assessed the phylogenetic relationships among five different morphotypes. The studied morphotypes (populations) came from three phytogeographical regions, namely the Western Ghats, the Deccan Peninsula and the Western Himalaya. The naturally occurring populations from the Deccan Peninsula and the Western Himalaya showed conspicuous differences in their morphology. All the morphotypes had oblate spheroidal, tri-brevicolporate and honey-combed pollen grains which differed only in their quantitative parameters. The distinct-looking morphotypes, namely, Nandi Hills, Uttarakhand and cultivated morphotypes, could not be separated based on pollen characters. Phylogenetic analyses based on chloroplast DNA sequences revealed that our samples formed a clade sister to the B. cristata specimen used in the previous study. The genetic variation within morphotypes was not enough for the genomic regions investigated; however, it revealed among morphotype genealogies in detail. Phylogenetic analyses showed that there were three monophyletic groups within the B. cristata complex that exhibited some morphological differences. Nevertheless, based on the present sampling, it is not possible to delimit these morphotypes at specific or infraspecific level. To reach such conclusions, further investigations like sampling this species across its distribution range in India and assessment of intraspecific relationships, and their cytogenetical characterization should be done. The maximum contact force is one of the most important indicators for contact problems. In this paper, the configuration optimization is conducted to reduce the maximum contact force for a free-floating space robot capturing tumbling target. First, the dynamics model of a free-floating space robot is given, with which the inertial properties perceived at the end-effector can be derived. Combing the inertial properties of the contact bodies, a novel concept of integrated effective mass is proposed. It tries to transform the complex contact process into the energy change of a virtual single body with integrated effective mass. On this basis, a more general continuous contact model is established, which is also suitable for non-central collisions between space robot and the tumbling target. Thereafter, the maximum contact force is derived as an important indicator for the null-space optimization method to reduce the maximum contact force. Finally, numerical simulations with a 3-degree-of-freedom free-floating space robot and a 7-degree-of-freedom free-floating space robot, as the research objects, are carried out respectively and the results show the effectiveness of the method proposed. In the development of artificial intelligence (AI), games have often served as benchmarks to promote remarkable breakthroughs in models and algorithms. No-limit Texas Hold’em (NLTH) is one of the most popular and challenging poker games. Despite numerous studies having been conducted on this subject, there are still some important problems that remain to be solved, such as opponent exploitation, which means to adaptively and effectively exploit specific opponent strategies; this is acknowledged as a vital issue especially in NLTH and many real-world scenarios. Previous researchers tried to use an off-policy reinforcement learning (RL) method to train agents that directly learn from historical strategy interactions but suffered from challenges of sparse rewards. Other researchers instead adopted neuroevolutionary (NE) method to replace RL for policy parameter updates but suffered from high sample complexity due to the large-scale problem of NLTH. In this work, we propose NE_RL, a novel method combing NE with RL for opponent exploitation in NLTH. Our method contains a hybrid framework that uses NE’s advantage of evolutionary computation with a long-term fitness metric to address the sparse rewards feedback in NLTH and retains RL’s gradient-based method for higher learning efficiency. Experimental results against multiple baseline opponents have proved the feasibility of our method with significant improvement compared to previous methods. We hope this paper provides an effective new approach for opponent exploitation in NLTH and other large-scale imperfect information games. Full article

This paper focuses on the way in which small and medium-sized businesses in Flanders adapted communication with their customers during the economic lockdown in March–May 2020. It documents, more specifically, how shops tried to maintain, re-establish, or even re-invent communication with their customers during this two-month period. Based on pictures of shop windows in a Flemish city, we analyze the (semi-)commercial messages that appeared in this setting during this period. This analysis adopts an interdisciplinary perspective, in which a cognitive linguistic approach is integrated with analyses and practical advices by marketing agencies. Despite their orientation towards distinct, theoretical and practical goals, both approaches share an analytical interest in mapping participants and their mutual relationship as part of a communicative interaction. In the period of economic lockdown, marketers urged shop owners to ‘humanize’ their business strategy by downplaying content-related issues in favor of maximal social outreach towards customers. Considering this advice, it was hypothesized that under these circumstances participants in commercial transactions would be construed much more prominently, presenting themselves and each other as unprecedented empathetic business personas. Much of our data comply with this expectation, thus providing empirical evidence of a subjectified communicative ground, in which both buyer and seller personas figure with augmented prominence as parts of the object of conceptualization. Messages include, among other things, expressions of empathy, solidarity, combativity, but also creativity and humor thus incorporating a new type of humanized business communication. With respect to the analysis of marketing strategies, the collected data at the same time instantiate and legitimize marketers’ communication advice about humanizing one’s business exchange. The tri-comb-based multi-heterodyne detection technique has been proven to be a powerful tool for precision metrology, e.g., laser ranging and spectroscopy. However, in existing tri-comb generation methods, it is difficult to provide a large and variable difference in tri-comb repetition rates. In this paper; we propose a multidimensional multiplexing mode-locked laser based on a dual-ring integrative structure. Combining the dimensions of sub-ring multiplexing and wavelength multiplexing, two modes of tri-comb generation can be achieved with the dual-ring single cavity laser. The generated combs are identified based on the relative intensity of the pulse trains and optical spectrum, and the repetition rates of dual-combs from the same sub-ring are distinguished based on dispersion analysis. With repetition rates of approximately 47 MHz and 49.6 MHz, the minimum and maximum repetition rate difference of the generated tri-comb can be changed from 2.38 kHz and 2.59526 MHz to 2.74 kHz and 2.59720 MHz merely by switching the operation mode of the dual-ring integrated mode-locked laser. The obtained results indicate that our method can offer a powerful scheme for future multi-comb generation and its application in multi-heterodyne detection-based laser ranging and spectroscopy. The aim of this research was to determine the optimum twist equation for ring-spun yarns. The yarn twist can be calculated by different equations. With the research, we tried to find the appropriate equation to determine the yarn twist, which is determined by the values of yarn strength and hairiness. In the research, yarns from long staple combed cotton rovings and of different fineness (10 tex, 11.8 tex, 20 tex and 29.4 tex) were analyzed. The yarn twist was calculated using the equations of Koechlin and Laetsch. The analyzed yarns were produced in the spinning mill on the laboratory ring spinning machine Spinntester. In the second part of the investigation, yarn strength and hairiness were analyzed as a function of yarn twist. The results showed that Laetsch’s equation is suitable for determining the twist for yarns with a fineness of 10 tex, 11.8 tex, 20 tex and 29.4 tex, since, in this case, the calculated number of yarn threads is higher and thus the strength and elongation at break are also higher. The yarn hairiness is higher in analyzed samples for yarns with the twist calculated according to the Koechlin’s equation. Full article

Gyroscopes are one of the next killer applications for the MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems) sensors industry. Many mature applications have already been developed and produced in limited volumes for the automotive, consumer, industrial, medical, and military markets. Plenty of high-volume applications, over 100 million per year, have been calling for low-cost gyroscopes. Bulk silicon is a promising candidate for low-cost gyroscopes due to its large scale availability and maturity of its manufacturing industry. Nevertheless, it is not suitable for a real monolithic IC integration and requires a dedicated packaging. New designs are supposed to eliminate the need for magnets and metal case package, and allow for a real monolithic MEMS-IC (Integrated Circuit) electronic system. In addition, a drastic cost reduction could be achieved by utilizing off-the-shelf plastic packaging with lead frames for the final assembly. The present paper puts forward the design of a novel tri-axial gyroscope based on rotating comb-drives acting as both capacitive sensors and actuators. The comb-drives are comprised of a single monolithic moving component (rotor) and fixed parts (stators). The former is made out of different concentrated masses connected by curved silicon beams in order to decouple the motion signals. The sensor was devised to be fabricated through the PolyMUMPs® process and it is intended for working in air in order to semplify the MEMS-IC monolithic integration. Full article
