The differentiated characteristics of the silver (elderly) group from other groups means that the previous interaction mechanism in short-form video (SFV) e-commerce is no longer applicable. Drawing on sociotechnical systems theory and the ERG theory, this study is motivated to explore the purchase intention of silver consumers in SFV platforms. We categorize the characteristics of SFV platforms into social and technical aspects, and analyze silver consumers’ purchasing decisions in terms of existence, relatedness, and growth needs. The empirical results of 284 samples show that social belonging, perceived trust, and product relevance are positive factors that promote purchase. Information diversity and social interaction have significant positive effects on social belonging and perceived trust. Recommendation affordance is significantly positively associated with perceived trust and product relevance, while platform ease of use did not have a significant effect on perceived trust. The findings provide management insights into SFV platforms to better understand the digital divide faced by silver consumers and to facilitate increased consumption. Full article

Since entering the period of economic and social transformation, China’s labor relations conflicts have entered a period of prominence and prevalence, which has brought great challenges to ensure the sustainable development of enterprises and build a harmonious society. Constructing a scientific and reasonable evaluation index system of harmonious labor relations in enterprises to measure the harmonious degree of labor relations is of great significance for improving the management level of labor relations in enterprises, promoting sustainable development of enterprises, and building a socialist harmonious society. Based on the relevant research results of labor relations and from the perspective of employees, this paper took the ERG theory (E stands for existence needs, R stands for relatedness needs, G stands for growth needs) as the basic framework of the evaluation index system, combined with the literature research method and expert consultation method to initially design evaluation index system, used SPSS 26.0 software and principal component analysis to further determine the evaluation index system structure. Based on the structural equation model, this paper used AMOS 23.0 software to carry out first-order and second-order confirmatory factor analysis for the evaluation index system and assigned objective weights to the evaluation indicators according to standardized factor analysis path coefficients. The index system, via structure confirmation and index empowerment, is used to evaluate the harmonious degree of labor relations between the two enterprises, N and Z. It is found that the evaluation index system of enterprise harmonious labor relations constructed in this paper conforms to the theoretical hypothesis model; The index system includes salary and benefits, working conditions, communication management, interpersonal relationship, individual participation and personal development six dimension-level indexes and 18 index-level indexes; The overall labor relations of companies N and Z are relatively harmonious, but the relative satisfaction of individual development indicators at the dimension level is low, and there is still room for improvement. The research results of this paper not only enrich and improve the theoretical system of labor relations to a certain extent but also provide a new perspective for the integration of enterprise harmonious labor relations and ERG theory and provide a theoretical basis and practical guidance for enterprises to establish harmonious labor relations and promote sustainable development of enterprises. As the global sustainable development agenda advances, having a healthy lifestyle has become an important part of the common pursuit. Physical activity needs and experiences are becoming increasingly diverse, yet there is a paucity of research on issues associated with university students’ physical activity needs, and their perceptions of their physical activity needs and sustainable well-being are not yet fully understood. Therefore, this study combines Self-Determination Theory with the existence, relatedness, and growth (ERG) Theory of Needs to explore the mediating effects of different variables on the relationship between university students’ physical activity needs and sustainable well-being. A total of 900 Chinese university students were invited through an online survey to participate in this study, and the collected data were validated with a structural equation model. According to the results of the study, it was found that the level of involvement and flow experience in university students’ sports activities have a mediating effect on the relationship between needs and sustainable well-being. Therefore, educators can enhance the level of sustainable well-being by stimulating university students’ physical activity needs and improving their level of involvement and participation experience. Research on the effect of work value perception on workers’ health, especially in emerging economies, is scarce. This study, therefore, explored how work value perception affects the physical and mental health of workers in China. We also examined the mediating role of life satisfaction in the relationship between work value perception and health. Taking a random sample of 16,890 individuals in China, we used ordered probit regression and instrumental variable ordered probit regression to test the links between work value perception and workers’ health based on existence, relatedness, and growth (ERG) theory. The results showed that work value perception significantly affected both the physical and mental health of workers; the results remained robust after solving the endogeneity problem. The subsample regression results showed that work value perception significantly affected the physical and mental health of female, male, married, unmarried, religious, and nonreligious workers. Furthermore, life satisfaction mediated the effect of work value perception on workers’ health. These results shed light on the relationship between work value perception and health and thus have implications for improving workers’ physical and mental health. This study can provide a reference for both governmental and corporate policymakers in emerging economies. Full article
