The selection of proper healthcare device suppliers in sustainable organ transplantation networks has become an essential topic of increasing life expectancy. Assessment of sustainable healthcare device suppliers can be regarded as a complex multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem that consists of multiple alternative solutions with sustainable criteria. For this reason, this paper proposes a new integrated MCDM model based on combining an extended vlsekriterijuska optimizacija i komoromisno resenje (E-VIKOR) and measurement alternatives and ranking according to the compromise solution (MARCOS) approaches under interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFSs). The aggregating technique of the E-VIKOR method is a strong point of this method compared to the original approach. The IVIFS is taken to cope with the uncertain situation of real-world applications. In this regard, an IVIF-similarity measure is introduced to compute weights of the decision-makers (DMs). The IVIF-Shannon entropy method is utilized to calculate the criteria weights, and a new hybrid proposed model is developed by presenting the IVIF-E-VIKOR method and IVIF-MARCOS, to calculate the ranking of sustainable supplier alternatives in organ transplantation networks to supply the surgery devices. Afterward, an illustrative example is introduced to evaluate the performance of the proposed model, and a comparative analysis is presented to confirm and validate the proposed approach. Moreover, sensitivity analysis for essential parameters of the proposed model is performed to assess their effects on outcomes. Full article

Urban transportation issues continue to emerge and evolve as a result of rapid urbanization, and the systematic and scientific assessment of urban mobility is becoming increasingly essential. In this work, a Pressure-State-Response (PSR) model with 25 indicators was established to reflect the status of urban mobility. Then, the importance of indicators was determined with the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (IVIF-AHP) method, and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE) method was applied to assess the overall status of urban mobility. The validity of the proposed model was demonstrated using the mobility system of Beijing as a case study, and the pressure, state, and response scores were calculated. The proposed assessment model can help to improve urban transportation monitoring and can also provide a scientific foundation for future urban transportation policymaking, planning, and traffic management, thereby further ensuring the sustainable development of urban transportation systems. Ranking of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IVIFNs) is an important task for solving real-life Decision-Making problems. It is a potential area of research that has attracted the researchers working in fuzzy mathematics. Researchers worldwide are looking for a unique ranking principle that can be used to discriminate any two arbitrary IVIFNs. Various ranking functions on the set of IVIFNs have been proposed. However, every method has some drawbacks in ranking arbitrary IVIFNs due to the partial ordering. This paper introduces a new ranking principle for comparing two arbitrary IVIFNs by defining a new score function based on the non-membership value of IVIFNs. In this paper, firstly, the limitations of a few well-known and existing ranking methods for IVIFNs have been discussed. Secondly, a new non-membership score on the class of IVIFNs has been introduced. Thirdly, the superiority of the proposed score function in ranking arbitrary IVIFNs over the existing methods has been demonstrated. Finally, the proposed non-membership score function has been utilized in interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy TOPSIS (IVIF-TOPSIS) using numerical examples. Full article

The third-party platform named ECO system is used by many transnational companies to monitor the sustainability performance of their global suppliers because of its easiness and shareability. Nonetheless, methods used in this platform for evaluating and calculating the sustainability performance of the alternative suppliers are criticized for their lack of accuracy. In response to these problems, this paper presents a heterogeneous multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method based on interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy--an acronym in Portuguese for interactive multi-criteria decision making (IVIF--TODIM) to improve the efficiency of the evaluation model. Considering the varying features of evaluation criteria, i.e., either quantitative or qualitative, the evaluation values under different criteria are expressed in their appropriate information types. In this paper, a general method based on the relative closeness to the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method is applied for aggregating the heterogeneous assessment information, including crisp numbers, interval numbers, and triangular fuzzy numbers (TFNs), into interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IVIFNs). Then, the TODIM (an acronym in Portuguese for interactive multi-criteria decision making) is extended and employed to prioritize the alternative suppliers. Finally, the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by a practical example of polymer manufacturing company and a comparison analysis with existing methods. Full article

Optimal selection of sustainable materials in construction projects can benefit several stakeholders in their respective industries with the triple bottom line (TBL) framework in a broader perspective of greater business value. Multiple criteria of social, environmental, and economic aspects should be essentially accounted for the optimal selection of materials involving the significant group of experts to avoid project failures. This paper proposes an evaluation framework for solving multi criteria decision making (MCDM) problems with incomplete weight information by extending the combinative distance assessment (CODAS) method with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. To compute the unknown weights of the evaluation criteria, this paper presents an optimization model based on the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy distance measure. In this study, we emphasize the importance of individual decision makers. To illustrate the proposed approach, an example of material selection in automotive parts industry is presented followed by a real case study of brick selection in sustainable building construction projects. The comparative study indicates the advantages of the proposed approach in comparison with the some relevant approaches. A sensitivity analysis of the proposed IVIF-CODAS method has been performed by changing the criteria weights, where the results show a high degree of stability. Full article
