Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Cysticercosis remains an endemic problem in most of the developing world and impacts on other developed countries due to imported cases. Main problems associated with cysticercosis are related with human health. This is the case when Taenia solium cysticerci affects different organs, such as brain causing neurocysticercosis, but also when cases of infection with bovine and pork cysticercosis occur in the agricultural industry and veterinary due to Taenia saginata and Taenia solium larvae infection.
Opportune and specific diagnosis of cysticercosis may help to manage adequately both the human and veterinary health, and also assist to prevent the spread of the infection.
This Special Issue will collate articles on immunodiagnosis approaches to mainly Taenia solium and Taenia saginata cysticercosis in different countries of America, Asia and Africa, etc. Immunodiagnosis studies of other cestodes causing cysticercosis that affect another animal species are welcomed.
We invite the submission of original review or original manuscripts dealing with the following proposed topics. Content may include, but is not limited to:
- Performance of Immunodiagnosis of cysticercosis in Africa
- Performance of Immunodiagnosis of cysticercosis in Asia
- Performance of Immunodiagnosis of cysticercosis y America
- Immunodiagnosis of Taenia solium in pigs
- Immunodiagnosis of Taenia saginata in bovines
- Immunodiagnosis of human Neurocysticercosis
