Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue, “Human-Centric Systems for Sustainable Project Management”, calls for pioneering research to establish a next-generation framework for complex projects.
We seek contributions that move beyond siloed approaches, instead applying systems thinking to create integrated management systems where human factors and cognitive systems engineering are foundational.
The scope includes advancing lean project management and dynamic project scheduling to achieve sustainable construction goals, leveraging digital project delivery and process innovation to measurably improve operational safety and wellbeing, and developing robust economic and social value models.
We welcome theoretical, empirical, and case studies that provide actionable methodologies for translating systemic knowledge into practical, scalable industry solutions, ultimately enhancing the resilience, efficiency, and long-term viability of projects in dynamic environments.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
