We are pleased to announce that MDPI has been selected as the publisher for the Société Internationale d'Urologie Journal (SIUJ) (ISSN 2563-6499) starting from January 2024.
Launched in 2020 by the Société Internationale d’Urologie (SIU) in Montreal, Canada, the SIUJ is published online six times a year as an open access journal.
SIUJ welcomes submissions on all areas of urology and related fields, including oncology, pediatrics, translational research, renal transplantation, genitourinary reconstruction, endourology, urolithiasis, andrology, female urology, surgical innovation, neurourology, infectious diseases, imaging and radiology, pathology incontinence, sexual medicine, functional urology, epidemiology, genitourinary trauma, and global and planetary health. It is indexed in the DOAJ.
We are pleased to emphasize that SIUJ remains free for both authors and readers. The publication costs will be generously covered by the SIU. At MDPI, we recognize that innovative models such as diamond models offer an alternative to article processing charges (APCs), reflecting our commitment to supporting fully open access journals.
In an Editorial published in the journal, Dr. Peter C. Black, the Editor-in-Chief of SIUJ, wrote: "The next big steps for the SIUJ are to become indexed and to acquire an impact factor. The Editorial Board of the SIUJ and the Board of Directors of the SIU have come to the conclusion that these objectives are best realized through a strategic partnership with an external publisher that can provide the necessary resources and support." Dr. Black also added, "We anticipate that our new partnership with MDPI will strengthen the SIUJ in its ambition to become a leading urologic publication for a worldwide audience."
