2020 The inaugural issue was released. Optics was published as a quarterly journal.
Optics established the following sections:
  • Nonlinear Optics;
  • Biomedical Optics;
  • Laser Sciences and Technology;
  • Engineering Optics;
  • Photonics and Optical Communications.
2023 Optics was indexed in Scopus (Elsevier), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).
Optics was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).
2024 Optics received its first Impact Factor (1.1).
Optics received its first CiteScore (2023) of 2.2.
2025 Optics received its CiteScore (2024) of 2.6, ranked 42/87 (Q2) in “Physics and Astronomy (miscellaneous)”.
