Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue is devoted to publishing the proceedings of the second edition of the “Sicilian Nephrocardiological days” that is annually held in Palermo. In this second edition, we increased the number of speakers by inviting prestigious speakers from entire Italy. Their well-known expertise in different areas of Nephrocardiology will enrich our knowledge of the different aspects of cardiorenal syndromes and cardio-nephro-metabolic syndrome. An entire session will be dedicated to renal and cardiac involvement during immunological syndromes. Rare diseases, like Fabry’s disease will be deeply elucidated as well as non-traditional cardiovascular risk factors in renal patients. A great lecture from Professor L. Gesualdo will be focused on the characterization of diabetic kidney patients.
This year, for the second time, speakers from entire Italy have met in Palermo to speak about different aspects of Nephrocardiology, a fascinating field that challenges not only cardiologists and nephrologists daily but also Internal medicine specialists, diabetologists and general practitioners. For this reason, we focused our attention on different and threatening points to stimulate discussions and interactions between different specialties, with the unique aim of ameliorating the health and quality of life of these complex patients.
We are pleased to invite you to join us for this exciting challenge!
This Special Issue also welcomes original articles, narratives and systematic reviews about the subjects of the Conference.
Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Cardiorenal syndromes (both acute and chronic)
- Transitional care
- Cardiorenal involvement in Immunopathology
- Amyloidosis
- Cardio-renal-metabolic syndrome
- Anderson–Fabry Disease
