Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Sport analytics have revolutionized various sports like baseball, basketball, American football, football, tennis, etc. In this Special Issue, we invite contributions to the growing field of sports analytics that analyze sports through the lense of game theory. Game theory has become a tool that is used widely in sports analytics to identify strategically optimal plays. We are particularly interested in research that identifies conditions under which strategically optimal play, even in the modern days of sports analytics, is violated, as this will pave the way to improve athletes’ performance and interpretations thereof.
