Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Children's oral health is fundamental in preventing future problems in adolescence and adulthood. The adequate education of parents and caregivers is of great importance, as is the implementation of health programs aimed at improving children’s oral health. In order to establish such programs, it is necessary to identify the problem by reviewing the concepts of health determinants, prevention, and promotion.
The WHO states that 60–90% of school-age children have caries. Prevention and early diagnosis have to be taken into account to reduce this prevalence. The treatment of lesions with a minimal intervention strategy is also of great importance.
MIH is a condition with a prevalence that varies between 3 and 40% according to different authors. It would be interesting to include studies with uniformity of diagnostic criteria, as well as to go deeper into the most appropriate way to manage these patients.
Other pathologies, such as fluorosis or gingivitis, should also be studied in detail.
We should not forget that children in situations of child abuse present signs in the oral and perioral cavity.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Future is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1000 CHF (Swiss Francs).
