Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The adoption of ‘Building Information Modelling’ worldwide has largely surpassed the initial start-up phase and already has excellent examples of widespread implementation in Portuguese-speaking countries. It is in this context of BIM's frank expansion and generalization that the 4th PTBIM appears, assuming since its inception as the BIM congress in the Portuguese language and counting on an International Commission representing several Portuguese-speaking countries. This is considered, therefore, as an international conference held in the Portuguese language, representing a community of more than 232 million native speakers, and it is open to participation in the English language for non-natives who have conducted work in institutions located in countries with Portuguese as an official language.
The 4th PTBIM will take place in Braga, Portugal, on 4th to 6th May 2022 (www.ptbim.org). The conference will include several BIM-related topics such as: implementation and management; policies and standardization; BIM-SIG; interoperability; architecture, engineering, construction and FM; LCA and circular economy; heritage; automation; IoT and monitoring; software development; training; case studies.
Selected papers from PTBIM2022 will be published in this Special Issue, which aims to gather a wider dissemination of extended English versions of the most impactful contributions of the event. CivilEng is waiving publication fees for the selected papers.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
