Travel Award

The Soil Systems Travel Award was launched in 2019, and is presented every year to allow junior scientists to present their latest research at academic conferences in the field of biological, (bio)chemical, and physical processes operating within soils and sediments. The Award helps to grow the profile of exceptional early-career scholars. Applications are open from June to October, and winners are announced by the end of December every year.

The Prize:
– CHF 800;
– A certificate.

Eligibility and Requirements

– PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, or research fellows;
– Plans to attend an international conference in 2026 (oral presentation or poster).

List of Documents for Application

– Information of the conference the applicant is planning to attend and the abstract that will be submitted;
– Curriculum vitae and list of publications;
– Justification letter describing the focus of the research (max. 800 words);
– Letter of recommendation from supervisor, research director, or head of department, which also confirms the applicant’s status.
