July 2018: Three Society Collaborations Established

Feature papers represent the most advanced research with significant potential for high impact in the field. A Feature Paper should be a substantial original Article that involves several techniques or approaches, provides an outlook for future research directions and describes possible research applications.
Feature papers are submitted upon individual invitation or recommendation by the scientific editors and must receive positive feedback from the reviewers.
Editor’s Choice articles are based on recommendations by the scientific editors of MDPI journals from around the world. Editors select a small number of articles recently published in the journal that they believe will be particularly interesting to readers, or important in the respective research area. The aim is to provide a snapshot of some of the most exciting work published in the various research areas of the journal.

In July 2018, three societies chose to establish a cooperation with MDPI journals.

As part of this collaboration, the members of these affiliated societies will enjoy a discount on the article processing charges (APC) when submitting articles to the corresponding journals. The collaboration goes beyond the discount benefit offered to members and includes other services as well as cross-promotions.

The ECATS International Association was founded in 2005 as a Network of Excellence on Aviation and Environment of more than 100 researchers within the European Framework Research Programme. After 5 years of joint research and exploring closer collaboration, this ECATS Network of Excellence was transformed into the ECATS International Association, officially registered on 2 November 2010 by a [Royal Decree] of Belgium. Their website reflects the change from a network into an Association’s homepage.

Membership in the society is free and includes a monthly e-newsletter with “Abstracts in the Press,” conference news, job postings, and other announcements.
The International Chair for Advanced Studies on Hydration (CIEAH) was founded in October 2016 following on from the legacy of the European Hydration Institute.
The CIEAH comes under the auspices of the Research Institute of Biomedical and Health Sciences (IUIBIS), of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It aims to develop and promote research projects on human hydration and healthy lifestyles.
