Feature papers represent the most advanced research with significant potential for high impact in the field. A Feature Paper should be a substantial original Article that involves several techniques or approaches, provides an outlook for future research directions and describes possible research applications.
Feature papers are submitted upon individual invitation or recommendation by the scientific editors and must receive positive feedback from the reviewers.
Editor’s Choice articles are based on recommendations by the scientific editors of MDPI journals from around the world. Editors select a small number of articles recently published in the journal that they believe will be particularly interesting to readers, or important in the respective research area. The aim is to provide a snapshot of some of the most exciting work published in the various research areas of the journal.

We are pleased to announce that the open access journal Pollutants (ISSN: 2673-4672) has been indexed in Scopus in April 2025. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all the authors, reviewers, and editors who have contributed to this journal and helped to accomplish this achievement.
Pollutants is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal focusing on contaminants that are introduced into the natural environment, beyond permitted limits, and cause measurable deleterious effects on air, water, soil, or living organisms. Research articles, reviews, communications, and other article types will be considered.
The aims of Pollutants encompass the ever-increasing borders of environmental sciences which include but are not limited to public environmental occupational health, toxicology, water resources, geosciences, atmospheric chemistry, environmental microbiology, ecosystem restoration, environmental analyses and monitoring, assessment of risks and interactions of pollutants in the environment, conservation biology, and sustainable agriculture.
