Text Correction

There were some parts of the original publication [1], which may lead to false conclusions about a specific product that were not intended.
A correction has been made to 1. Introduction, Paragraph 4, the first sentence:
“Wipes for disinfection are described as meeting the stringent validation requirements for the reprocessing of semi-critical medical devices, including compliance with manufacturer’s specifications and the easy use of several steps to ensure safety and traceability [8,12]”.
Corrections have also been made to the following sections:
1. Introduction, Paragraph 5, the 6th sentence:
“This often involves achieving a sporicidal effect, which can be accomplished through wipe disinfection or with the aid of automated disinfection systems”.
2. Materials and Methods, 2.1. Participants:
“Two participants were chosen for the study, each with a period of experience between two and five years using Wipes (Tristel, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom) to clean US probes after guided biopsy procedures”.
3. Results, Paragraph 2, the second sentence:
“This suggests that they may not be disinfected in the second step in a verifiable or valid manner”.
4. Discussion, Paragraph 1, last sentence:
“It can be assumed that the chlorine dioxide wipe (in the second, undocumented step) may not achieve sufficient disinfection in the area”.
4. Discussion, Paragraph 3, the second sentence:
“Although commercially available products promise that complete cleaning with a wipe disinfection can be validated at moderate cost, the initial test results in this work indicate that this is not fully possible for the user without dye”.
5. Conclusions, the fourth sentence:
“The results indicate that the concept of colorless wipe disinfection may benefit from a revision”.
The authors state that the scientific conclusions are unaffected. This correction was approved by the Academic Editor. The original publication has also been updated.
