Neutral Spores—An Easier Way to Cultivate Pyropia leucosticta (Thuret) Neefus & J.Brodie, 2011 (Bangiales, Rhodophyta) along the Romanian Black Sea Shore
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
This study presents an easier method to cultivate Pyropia leucosticta using neutral spores and discusses its possible application in the Romanian Black Sea shore, which is an interesting work. However, before accepting it for publication, there are several areas that need attention.
1. In the preface, the authors introduced more nori containing elements and their functions, but less in the related cultivation; it is suggested that the authors add the research progress on the influence of different environmental factors on nori reproduction.
2. In line 155, the reproductive tissue was placed in low light conditions in order to facilitate the release of the reproductive spores. Is there a specific requirement for low light here? It is recommended that the authors add the specific light intensity and the period of light during the study.
3. In line 157, light and water temperature are the key influencing factors for propagation of P. leucosticta. What are the optimal light and water temperature here? It is suggested that the authors add specific water temperature and light intensity based on the actual study.
4. In line 177, it is suggested that the authors add the interval of seawater replacement.
5. In line 224, it is suggested that the authors add information such as specific light intensity.
6. In the results section, the authors focus on the feasibility of the methodology of this study, and it is suggested that the authors add the necessary statistical tests

It is interests to conduct lab's culture for the Pyropia leucosticta culture, and the neutral spores releas and followed culture.
The descriptions in the introduction should be revised for more concise. (Enclosed marked with color are needed to be revised, it is should be concise.)
