Trauma Care (ISSN: 2673-866X) published its initial Aims and Scope in July 2020; since then, it has received a large variety of submissions from several disciplines relevant to physical and physiological trauma. After careful consideration of the editorial board’s expertise, the potential overlaps with other journals, and the time taken in the editorial process for articles from different fields, we refocused our journal’s scope. Trauma Care will continue to consider any aspects regarding the prevention, treatment, education, and research of physical injuries. Also, in line with the comprehensive science of traumatology, submissions related to the psychological components of mechanical trauma will be considered. This new strategic focus requires tightening of our editorial process and strengthening of the editorial board’s contributions to be consistent with the new scope. Until further notice, new submissions about isolated psychological trauma, which is not a response to mechanical injuries, will not be considered for peer review.
