Deposition of Potentially Toxic Metals in the Soil from Surrounding Cement Plants in a Karst Area of Southeastern Brazil
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Comments:
- Line 44, correct “cm-3”.
- In Table 1, add a column and add the reference which each value is taken.
- Better use references after 2000 (If applicable).
- use numbering for equations used in the manuscript.
- For equations in lines 146-149, pl. add a reference/s.
- To improve the manuscript, in Introduction or Discussion, you can use the following papers:
- Assessment of heavy metal pollution and human health risks assessment in soils around an industrial zone in Neyshabur, Iran
- Heavy metals exposure, carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic human health risks assessment of groundwater around mines in Joghatai, Iran
- Spatial distribution, enrichment and geo-accumulation of heavy metals in surface sediments near urban and industrial areas in the Persian Gulf
Author Response
Response to Reviewer 1 Comments
Point 1: Line 44, correct “cm-3”.
Response 1: Checked and corrected properly.
Point 2: In Table 1, add a column and add the reference which each value is taken.
Response 2: The suggestions were duly inserted in Table 1
Point 3: Better use references after 2000 (If applicable).
Response 3: We only kept the references before 2000 that were related to the methods used. All those used in the Introduction or Discussion sections have been replaced by more recent references.
Point 4: use numbering for equations used in the manuscript.
Response 4: All equations have been numbered.
Point 5: For equations in lines 146-149, pl. add a reference/s.
Response 5: All equations have been referenced.
Point 6: To improve the manuscript, in Introduction or Discussion, you can use the following papers:
Assessment of heavy metal pollution and human health risks assessment in soils around an industrial zone in Neyshabur, Iran
Heavy metals exposure, carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic human health risks assessment of groundwater around mines in Joghatai, Iran
Spatial distribution, enrichment and geo-accumulation of heavy metals in surface sediments near urban and industrial areas in the Persian Gulf
Response 6:
References information have been included in manuscript and cited (except the last one which deals with sediments).
Reviewer 2 Report
The manuscript titled "Deposition of potentially toxic metals in the soil from surrounding cement plants in a karst area of Southeastern Brazil" with manuscript id "conservation-1274725" has been reviewed carefully. The manuscript quality is quite good. Please correct the points:
- For metal pollution in the soil, it will be better to show source analysis to find suitable sources of toxic metals in the study area.
- The author should add some latest citation in their manuscript to improve the manuscript quality and some suggested articles DOI are: 10.1080/15569543.2019.1650777; 10.1016/j.scitotenv.2021.147962; 10.1080/15569543.2021.1925919.
