The fifth International Conference on Advances in Mechanical Engineering 2025 (ICAME-25) was held on 26th August 2025 by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Capital University of Science and Technology (CUST). At ICAME-25, thirty (30) national presenters physically presented their research papers in the Mechanical Engineering Department at CUST, while fifteen (15) international presenters, along with four (4) keynote speakers, participated online. ICAME is held annually and welcomes high-quality theoretical and empirical original research papers, case studies and review papers from researchers, academicians, professionals, practitioners and students from all over the world. All submitted articles undergo a double-blind review process.
ICAME-25 accepts research papers in the following disciplines:
Experimental and Computational Fluid Dynamics;
Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer;
Energy, Energy Conversion and Sustainability;
Materials Science, Machine Design & Failure Analysis;
Mechanisms, Robotics, and Intelligent Systems;
Manufacturing, Production and Industrial Automation;
Engineering and Technology Management;
Bioengineering and Biomedical Applications;
Materials Science and Failure Analysis;
AI, Machine Learning and Predictive Modeling;
Other Allied Fields of Mechanical Engineering.
ICAME-25 provided a platform for national and international speakers/participants to present their state-of-the-art research to a diverse audience from academia and industry. The international speakers were also given the opportunity to participate virtually. For the complete details regarding keynote speakers and the conference program, please visit the official conference webpage:

The ICAME-25 committee consists of the following:
Mr. Mian Amer Mahmood, Patron (Chancellor);
Dr. Muhammad Mansoor Ahmed, Co-Patron (Vice Chancellor);
Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed Taj, General Advisor (Dean Faculty of Engineering);
Dr. Muhammad Mahabat Khan, Principal Advisor (Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering);
Dr. Muhammad Irfan, Chair/Conference Secretary/Editor In-Chief (Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering).
The conference proceedings are published in the Engineering Proceeding Journal of MDPI (Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute), Switzerland, with all articles individually indexed and citable via Digital Object Identification (DOI). An electronic book of the conference proceedings with an ISBN is also digitally available.
Four keynote speakers delivered insightful talks to the participants and presenters of ICAME-25:
Keynote Speaker 1: Prof. Atilla BIYIKOĞLU delivered the talk titled “Heat pipe technology and its low-T applications for decarbonization/optimum insulation thickness”. Prof. Dr. Atilla BIYIKOĞLU received his license degree in 1989 from the Mechanical Engineering Department at Gazi University; his MSc. degree in 1992 from the Mechanical Engineering Department at M.E.T.U.; and his PhD degree in 1998 from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Gazi University. He worked as Assist. Prof. between 2003 and 2007, Associate Prof. between 2007 and 2013 and after receiving the title of professor in 2013, served as Chair in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Gazi University between 2013 and 2017. He is among the founders of the Clean Energy Research and Application Centre of Gazi University and served as a Co-Chair between 2018 and 2023. He served as President of the Turkish Society for Thermal Sciences and Technology (TIBTD) between 2018 and 2021 and as president of the American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Turkish Chapter for the 2020-22 term. He still continues his duty as Vice President of ASHRAE Turkish Chapter for the 2024-25 term. Additionally, he has been working in the ASHRAE Region-At-Large as the RAL Historian since 2018. He has published studies on the application of Thermodynamic Laws, entropy production, combustion, reacting flows, fuel cells, boron production, natural convection, cooling systems, waste heat recovery and coal gasification.
Keynote Speaker 2: Prof. Dr. Sergiu-Dan STAN delivered the talk titled “Machining, Manufacturing and Automation”. Dr. Sergiu-Dan Stan (PhD from 2007) is member of IEEE (Senior member IEEE), ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), IFToMM (International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science). Member of the Mechatronics and Machine Dynamics of Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. In the last 23 years, he was director or member of many national and European projects in the field of mechatronics/robotics, energy, VR, industrial applications and worked with many foreign universities. He is currently the Director of the Advanced Mechatronics Laboratory involving more researchers and projects.
Keynote Speaker 3: Dr. Hassan Ali presented the talk titled “Recent Developments in Renewable Energy Engineering”. Dr. Hassan Ali is currently working as Associate Professor at University of Birmingham, Dubai. He is program director of Renewable Energy Engineering M.Sc. Program and is developing this program at the interface of technology, policy and finance. He has over 16 years of experience in teaching, research, management. He has the experience of initiating engineering programmes, and worked at mid/senior management roles that provided him the opportunity to have holistic insights and oversights of program leadership. Dr. Ali carries global context as well as significant understanding of UAE higher education market as he has been responsible for programme development, community engagement, curriculum development and lead research/dissertation projects.
