Frequency Alteration Built on an Electro-Optical Sampling SOA–MZI Using a Differential Modulation Schema
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The article "Frequency Mixing Based on an Electro-Optical SOA-MZI Sampling Mixer Using a Differential Modulation Schema" by Hassan Termos and Ali Mansour desribes simulation and development of frequency mixing device based on electro-optical up-converter utilizing a semiconductor optical amplifier Mach–Zehnder interferometer. The overall article design looks sound and the obtained results are well-presented, however, the introduction part contain mostly references on the same authors. I would suggest to extend it including works by the other research groups or describe why the only one group is working in this direction and have no concurents. The article also requires some minor proofreading, so I suggest to accept it after the minor revision extending the introduction part of the article.

A real and simulated study of an electro-optical up-converter utilizing a semiconductor optical amplifier Mach–Zehnder interferometer (SOA-MZI) sampling mixer along with the differential modulation schema is presented in this paper, some comments as follows:
1.Why the author use the up-converter, it should be decribed clearly.
2.Effiviency should be discussed.
3.The comparison should given with a table in quantitity.
4.More relevant publication should be discussed such as DOI: 10.1016/j.isatra.2022.02.019
5.The figures and english writing should be checked such as Fig.3, too big.

An electro-optical up-coan electro-optical up-converter is used in the system design, the advantages should be discussed with exiisted converter circuit such asDOI: 10.1016/j.isatra.2022.02.019, 2022.
