- A skeletally anchored Distal Jet is effective and efficient for maxillary molar distal movement, offering the advantage of no side effects in the anterior part of the arch.
- The miniscrew insertion and removal procedure is really simple, fast and painless for the patient. Moreover, soft tissues have not developed inflammation or bleeding.
- Molar distal movement was obtained in a few months with a final distal tipping and rotation of the crowns; no vertical changes were observed.
- A distal screw presents several clinical advantages such as no patient compliance, good aesthetics, predictable outcomes and the possibility of asymmetric effects.
- Thanks to a specific design, a distal screw also allows the spontaneous distal drift of premolars induced by o transept periodontal fibers stretching.
- A distal screw can also be used as an anchorage device during the following phase of treatment of anterior teeth retraction, in order to avoid side effects on the maxillary molars.
