In order to meet the mechanized demand of high-efficiency bloodletting of freshwater fish, based on the process of bloodletting of fish gills, the impact-triggered limit bloodletting method was proposed, and the automatic bloodletting device of fish was designed. Through the continuous action process of orientation feeding, posture constraint, limit trigger, reciprocating bloodletting, and automatic sliding out, the mechanized bloodletting effect is realized. This study focuses on the difficult problems of fish processing based on industry needs. The research results are beneficial to reduce the dependence of fish bloodletting on manual labor, and can provide technical support for the mechanized primary processing of fish, which has important practical significance.

The following questions are raised regarding the content of the paper:

  1. In the design of the transmission mechanism, it is mentioned in the article that the transmission of the machine has a sequential order. The bloodletting mechanism moves first, and after the bloodletting is completed, the fish board is placed and then opened and closed. How is the fish release board released from its limit after the bloodletting mechanism is activated? Please add in the text.
  2. In the article, the success rate of bloodletting is used as the main evaluation indicator. How should the bloodletting effect of fish be judged?
  3. Different sizes of fish result in different positions of their gills. How is the adaptability of gill bleeding to fish size addressed during the device design process?

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This study presents an innovative automatic bloodletting device for fish. However, the overall writing of the paper has several issues, kind of mass. The structure of the paper needs optimization, and the language requires revisions by a native speaker. Additionally, the paper does not assess the application effects of the device, such as its impact on fish or its performance on different species. Overall, it reads more like a patent rather than a research paper. Major revisions and additional experiments are necessary.

  1. There are numerous issues with the English expression that need to be corrected by a native speaker. For example, "Manpower" should be changed to "labor," and "Bloodletting" should be changed to "bleeding."
  2. The authors mention that the goal of the study is to develop a bloodletting device for small freshwater fish, specifically those weighing less than 300g. However, the experiments were conducted using fish weighing over 500g
  3. Page 2, lines 47-52. This part is key premise for this paper, must add
  4. The Latin name of each fish species should be provided.
  5. Some parts of the materials and methods shouldplaced in the introduction  For example, lines 150-156 seem to belong in the introduction section.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript explores the design and performance evaluation of an automatic fish bloodletting machine. The study appears to aim at improving operational efficiency in the fish processing industry, with implications for automation in agricultural equipment. While the research topic is relevant and timely, the presentation and structure of the manuscript require significant improvement.

1. Provide more background on the significance of bloodletting in fish processing and its impact on product quality.

2. The methodology section is insufficiently detailed. Include specific information on the mechanical design, materials used, and the operational parameters of the machine.

3. Describe the experimental setup comprehensively, including the type and number of fish used, environmental conditions, and the criteria for evaluating performance.

4. Conduct a statistical analysis to validate the significance of the results. For example, compare the machine's efficiency with traditional methods using quantitative metrics.
