Reviewer 3 Report

The topic of the paper „Article Oils derived from GM crops as sustainable solutions to the supply of long-chain omega-3 for on-growing Atlantic bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus L.)” is novelty and very interesting for readers.

The aim of the manuscript was to test, for the first time, the feasibility of using these novel sources of de novo eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid as substitutes for marine oil in feeds for juvenile Thunnus thynnus L.

The results showed the oils were practical sources of omega 3 (n-3) long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids which could potentially replace fish oil in feeds for Thunnus thynnus L. juveniles.

The test diets also showed positive effects on the expression of digestive enzyme genes and influenced antioxidant enzyme genes.

The introduction provides sufficient background and includes relevant references.

The manuscript is well written, and the text is easy to read.

The design research is appropriate.

The results are consistent and clearly presented.

The reference list is variously and relatively recently.
