General remarks:

Text needs revision in some parts.

Line 26-27: Keywords: longan; distant hybridization; inheritance; organic acid; fruit weight; fruit size

These keywords should be replaced with other one that reflect the work, as those already appear in the title.

Line 91: Subsection 2.3. Determination of organic acid content of the hybrid population fruit

Determination of organic acids should be done in triplicate and results should be expressed as mean value ± standard deviation

Line 111-112: Subsection: 2.5. Measurement of fruit weight and size of the hybrid population

The description of the method should be presented in more clear way.

 Results section

All tables should be have a legend with explanation of abbreviates presented in the table.

General comments The studies assessed the genetic diversity of organic acids content, weight and size of fruit
of the population F1, obtained as a result of distant hybridization of longan
(Dimocarpus longana) and lytchee (Litchii chinensis). The research was carried out with the
selection and breeding of longan cultivars in mind. The authors achieved the goal
and obtained a lot of important information about the inheritance of the listed features.
Research methodology, the type of statistical analyzes used is typical and correct for this type
of research. The substantive level of the publication is good.
Corrections regarding the editorial-stylistic aspect of the manuscript are recommended
(see detailed remarks).
Detailed comments In the introduction, a brief information about the mutual relations between the longan
(Dimocarpus longana) and lytchee (Litchii chinensis) species within the
Sapindaceae-Nephelieae based on the current taxonomy is indicated.
l. 47-50: “Thus, exploring the inheritance patterns of organic acid, weight and size traits
in fruits  is of great importance in the research on fruit tree breeding. Studies on acid fruit
weight and size inheritance patterns have been conducted in fruits, such as apple [6],
pear [7],  grape [8], Mango [9], blueberry [10], jujube [11], plum [5] and coconut [12]”.
For stylistic reasons, repetition from the second sentence, can be avoided: “Studies on this
issue have been conducted in fruits, such as apple [6], pear [7],  grape [8], Mango [9],
blueberry [10], jujube [11], plum [5] and coconut [12].
l. 74-75. It is advisable for logical reasons to first include a photo of the maternal form
(‘Huanongzao’), as is done for the parentage presenting in plant breeding.
l. 170. The authors wrote: “male parent ‘Huanongzao’”. There should be: female parent
‘Huanongzao’

Thank you for the submission - very interesting idea to cross lychee and longan fruit.

One of my major comments would be that it would help the reader greatly if you could explain how many trees and fruit were used for the experiment. A table or even a short paragraph describing the population (numbers) would be advised from my side.

I have made comments in the PDF file, please check.
