Comments and Suggestions for Authors

In the article, the authors present the characteristics of the exopolysaccharide extract from the Lactiplantibacillus plantarum C7 strain. The results confirmed potential functional effects, including antibacterial, antioxidant, prebiotic and antienzymatic activities.

General comments:

From the substantive point of view, the manuscript is generally well written, but the editorial aspect leaves much to be desired (in particular, lack of spaces between words, lack of uniformity in the presentation of units, problem with scale on the Figure presenting FTIR analysis, unformatted References).

The names of bacteria should be presented in accordance with the current taxonomy. The taxonomy and nomenclature of lactobacilli were changed in April 2020. The current classification of bacteria can be found in the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature at: https://lpsn.dsmz.de/.

The usefull tool for finding the new names of 250 species, previously assigned to the genus Lactobacillus but now referred to with a new genus name can be found at the website: http://lactobacillus.ualberta.ca/.

Full names of species should be given when first written in the Abstract, then in the body of the manuscript, then abbreviations should be used (e.g. L. plantarum).

It is not clear why authors present antimicrobial activity in comparison to Gentamicin.

Line 21- change "Gram positive and Gram negative" to Gram-positive and Gram-negative.

Line 52- need space between "Itis"

Line54- "Lb" changeit to L. plantarum

Line 61- space after dot ".Furthermore"

Line 66- need space "(2021),confirming"

Line 74- change Lb to L. you need to do same in all over the text.

Line 76-  aims or aimed is correct?

Line 77, change Lb to L.

Line 77- In this context, this current study aims to determine the functional potential of ex- opolysaccharides extracted from a probiotic LAB strain, Lb. plantarum C7 based on the study of their antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-enzymatic and prebiotic activities.  is in in-vitro or in-vivo?

Line 83- change is to was.

Line 84- it needs to give full address for "in the collection of the Laboratory of Ecology and Microbial Technology (LETMI)."

Line 86- what is "7strainwascarried"? correct it.

Line 88- what is? "Lb.plantarumC7inan"

Line 89-  "37°C". Line 92- "4° C" correct all in over the text.

Line  217-  "Gram Positive and Gram Negative " should be Gram-positive and Gram-negative?

Line 239- this is not mentioned in conclusion. "Table 2 summarizes several bibliographic data related to biological activities like those already examined in our work".

Line 330- rephrase this sentence "Tested enzymes including AChE or BChE as well as alpha amylase are deeply in- volved in Alzheimer and diabetic diseases, respectively". As it is not a part of the result or study.
