Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear authors,

Dear authors,

1. Introduction:

please explain in the Introduction that tehre has been a recent validation on a Pervuian sample (https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2022.792805/full#T4). Did you use the same tranaltion as they did?

2. Methods:

2. Results: There has been published a recent validation on a Croatian sample (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33410300/) also having 4 dimensions (update table 3).

Please use Cronbach alpha as well to report reliability.

The results of the testing are actually unknown, you must add the actual values on the scale and compare the results (men/women; age differences, eduacation, etc). We don't know anything about the burden except it has 4 dimensions. There is also no indicators of burden predictors.

4. Discussion:

please explain what are the main problems of your caregivers and suggest possible solutions if possible.

please add limitations of your study. There was no parallel testing of burden with another instrument, which is a limitation of many other ZBI studies.

Reviewer 2 Report

ZBI is used worldwide with caregivers of all backgrounds. However, it is necessary to validate the applicability to specific caregivers in specific regions. The significance of this study is to verify whether ZBI can be applied to caregivers of persons with intellectual disabilities in Peru.

A certain degree of reliability and validity was demonstrated in this study. However, I think it is difficult to make a simple comparison with other regions or targets. How will the results of this research be used in the future? We hope that you will suggest strategies in the discussion of this study.
