Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript is a comprehensive literature review on the use of cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) as a strategy to fight drug resistance in cancer.

The thematic sections of the manuscript are adequately set focusing on: mechanisms of drug resistance in cancer; plasma and cold plasma application in medicine including devices and approaches in oncology; CAT and effect on chemotherapy discussing the basic chemotherapeutics used in various types of cancer; the challenges to CAP as a treatment strategy in cancer.

All sections are thoroughly elaborated based on recent original publications and concepts. There is a critical analysis and clear statement of limitations and drawbacks of this technology. The figures are informative, especially Fig.3 presenting statistics on CAP and chemotherapeutics based on different experimental models.

The conclusions and future persepctives are convincing and offer a critical scientific view on the current state of the problem.

The manuscript presents an important topic in regard of actuality and translational research. It outlines new perspectives for CAT-based therapies in cases of drug resistance in cancer. It has high informative and scientific merit and could be accepted for publication in Biomedicines.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript is well written and organized and contains interesting data and results for the field. In light of the above, I believe it is appropriate to publish this manuscript.
