Respiratory Muscle Performance and Pulmonary Function in Sarcopenic and Non-Sarcopenic Patients with Multiple Sclerosis: A Cross-Sectional Study
Highlights
- Secondary sarcopenia in multiple sclerosis is associated with reduced respiratory muscle endurance.
- No significant differences were observed in respiratory muscle strength parameters despite reduced respiratory muscle endurance in sarcopenic patients.
- Assessing respiratory muscle endurance may help detect early respiratory limitations in multiple sclerosis.
- Respiratory muscle endurance may represent a potential target for future rehabilitation studies in sarcopenic multiple sclerosis patients.
