Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThis article presents a novel impulsive predator-prey model to study integrated pest management (IPM) strategies combining chemical and biological controls. The authors extend traditional models by incorporating "variation multiple pulse interventions," allowing for flexible timing of pesticide applications and natural enemy releases. Using advanced mathematical tools with the implicit function theorem, variational methods, and bifurcation analysis authors explore system dynamics such as permanence, stability of pest-free/pest-present periodic solutions, and threshold conditions for control efficacy. Numerical simulations illustrate parameter sensitivities and complex behaviors like bifurcations and chaotic dynamics. The work aims to unify fragmented modeling approaches and provide theoretical foundations for optimizing IPM strategies. Overall I am pleased with this study.
I would recommend the authors to increase the size of the figures for greater clarity, and provide the simulation setup (such as integration method, integration step, initial conditions etc.) for all numerical simulation results.
