Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The issues discussed in the article appears very crucial and need further research in the reference to e.g. constructing educational programmes, the teacher formation and education, what emerges from the analyzed data and conclusions presented by the Authors. The autobiografical approach, reinforced by statistical analysis to some extent, elicits the aspects of axiological, ethical background for building the individual teacher approach to the art of teaching and learning, what should they be aware while developing reflective, autonomous attitude.  What appears interesing is the fact that only experience does not make a master. Another thing is underlying the meaning of affection/ emotions, interests (or passions such as music, literature and so on), contex and perspective for designing the educational prgramms  for teachers and students. It is also worthy to indicate the fact that teachers should know their own limitations and feel like students open to knowledge( widely understood) ,new experiences, and  challenges. The Authors in a right way stressed the complex and multifeceted phenomena aligning the data coming from the autobiographical narratives, what the content and sentimental analysis enabled them, and the triangulation of reserach methods.  By the way, the category "the content and sentimental analysis" might be more elaborated by the Authors, but it is up to them. I congratulate the Authors on their efforts put into the reserach paper wishing them expanding the research on a bigger scale  and publishing them in a form of scientific book on "jurney of eductaion".

The article is sound, relevant and well-structured. In general, I can only contribute with some minor notes regarding typos or language-related issues. However, I have one comment which could be taken into account:

The issue of the language used in the texts and analyses is not addressed in the article. Particularly, the mention to the use of the NRC dictionary in the Syuzhet Package (line 161-2) was what triggered my attention, since I assume this works in English. Given that the teachers were from the Valencian region in Spain, what language did they write their biographies in (the graphs show words in Spanish, but this is not explicitly mentioned)? Were the texts or particular words translated for any of the analyses? If so, how? Both writing in an additional language or the translation process can affect results in a content-driven analysis and this should be acknowledged, if this is the case.

I would also encourage authors to provide higher quality figures in general. The words and lines are quite blurry and hard to read or see (especially grey lines in figures 3-7).

Here are the more general linguistic or typographic comments:

Line 72: should probably be bolded

Figure 1: review sentence “letter from the teacher currently to himself in the past” to a gender-neutral sentence and to a more natural wording. Suggested alternative: “letter from the Teacher to their past self”

Line 133: eliminate quotation marks in “TextRazor”

Line 167-168 which graphs are being referenced?

Lines 187-189 should be eliminated

197 AFC acronym should be explained

210 which survey?

249, 255, 258, 396 possessives should be changed to gender-neutral to be consistent with the use throughout the text “this was his case” to “this was their case”, "his migrant pupils" to “their migrant pupils”, etc.

Comments on the Quality of English Language

In general, the text is correct, but it does have some unnatural expressions and syntax. If possible, I would suggest the author(s) to have it reviewed by a professional.

Author Response

The biographies were all written in Spanish and were analyzed in that language. The texts were not translated for analysis in Syuzhet or Iramuteq, both of which allow analysis in the Spanish language.

The figures have been kept in Spanish to be faithful to what was expressed by the teachers. This was shared with the editors before submission. 

Figures are replaced to increase their quality and facilitate their reading or interpretation.

All improvements derived from the linguistic or typographical comments indicated by the reviewer are introduced.

The article has been reviewed by a professional translator. Accrediting document is attached.
