Design of Compact Complex Impedance Transformer with Frequency and Terminal Impedance Tunability
Round 1

- How the the initial frequency f0 is assigned as 1.5 GHz to identify the circuit parameters? How the frequency bandwidth is fixed?
- The designed prototype is fabricated using the F4B substrate, but it has got certain disadvantages like poor rigidity and high coefficient of thermal expansion, in addition to high cost. How the designed prototype overcomes the mentioned disadvantage in the designed prototype using F4B Substrate.

Reviewer 2 Report
The article deals with a relevant subject, including experimental results of the prototype developed. Nevertheless, some issues must be improved as described as follows:
1) The state of the art, essentially, was done based on articles 11 to 16. Please include other references to enrich this discussion. Furthermore, some of the added papers must be in Table VII.
2) The article consists of only 17 references. In my opinion, a journal paper must have a minimum of 25 references.
3) The authors did not present any justification for the chosen impedances. It gives the impression of a random choice.
4) The factor m of equation 2, inserted in equation 1d, was introduced without explanation. Moreover, this factor should not be associated with the variable capacitor C3? Please explain.
5) Smith charts were not presented with tuned impedances. I suggest including an approach similar to the one introduced in Reference 1.
