Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper presents the simultaneous transmit and receive full digital self interference cancellation architecture for digital phased arrays with sparse array technology. The following comments are for the authors of the paper.

1. Some statements in the paper are not clear. Who is "they" in Reference [10]?

2. The paper has a lot of grammatical errors.

3. The references used in the paper are limited and some are obsolete.

4. The references should be properly discussed in the paper based on their relevance in the text, and not just mentioning them.

5. A typical realistic model system with detailed parameters is required for easy replication of the study. Figure 1 is not depicting that.

6. Simulation results should be presented before experiment results, in order to link the theory and the practical scenario.

7. Results with and without the flowchart implementation of Figure 3 are required.

Reviewer 2 Report

This manuscript presents “A Sparse Design for Aperture‐Level Simultaneous Transmit and Receive Arrays”. The sparse array technology and beamforming technology are used to reduce the corresponding observation channel by decreasing elements that contribute slightly to the effective isotropic isolation. Sparse array and beamforming are achieved by using genetic algorithm (GA) and alternating optimization (AO) algorithms, respectively. The work is well presented and is of interest. Below comments will be helpful to improve the manuscript.

For better readability, add some space above and below the equations, particularly in section 2.

Clearly mention in manuscript which results are simulated and measured.

Check the manuscript for typos and grammatical errors.
