Comments and Suggestions for Authors

I want to thank the author for letting me read this, as the subject is interesting. This essay provides an interesting topic that has not been researched in depth earlier. It focuses on the “Domus Sapientiae” metaphor and its interpretation by Greek and Latin Fathers and other written sources, such as liturgical hymns. The author concludes all masters of Christian doctrine interpret those metaphors in a Mariological or Christological sense. Concerning Mariological projection, the "house of Wisdom" is Mary’s body, where God incarnated as a man. This is also projected in artistic images of the Annunciation. According to the author, these images could illustrate textual metaphors and their meanings.
Moreover, the many written sources that reinforce the author's hypothesis should be highlighted. In addition, relating images and texts is a very interesting way to approach the topic from a cultural perspective.
Therefore, this paper provides an interesting approach to studying and understanding the “Domus sapientiae” metaphor.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This is a remarkable piece, outstanding for its knowledge of Greek, Latin, and Medieval sources, and its analysis of Italian Renaissance paintings.  These sources are well integrated into a theological discourse.
