Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This is a well-organized and researched essay. A couple of notes:

I'd recommend a paragraph break at line 26 on “Music itself” – this idea is important enough it deserves a paragraph break

59 please give us a date for the Liber Pontificalis

114-115 In half a sentence or less, briefly explain WHY these adjustments to the Gloria text would be connected to both Arianism and Origen (i.e. “…writers believe that these aspects reveal the influence of Arian thought, which claimed that… while others emphasize the influence of Origen, who wrote that…

At 122-134 Present the text with line breaks between lyrics, so that we have a more consistent format for the presentation of lyrics.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

First, thanks to the author for letting me read this interesting paper. It provides many sources of Gloria, which can be very usable for other research. The paper is very well structured and clearly explained. However, some details can be improved:

- The introduction is complete, but it needs to state better the objectives, and methodology and mention the expected results. It does not need to be long, just clarify these points.

- Parentheses quotations do not have to be bold.

- Latin words in text should be in italics (I highlighted them).

- If there are many footnotes, it is preferable Arabic numbers.

I have attached a file with highlighted words to be changed according to these suggestions.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The article is an historical study about the Christian hymn Gloria.

It is well constructed and coherent, although a proper consideration of the hymn in the modern age is missing.

Author Response

Thank you for your willingness and comments on my article.

  1. It is well constructed and coherent, although a proper consideration of the hymn in the modern age is missing.

Response: The aim of the article was to present the historical background of the hymn Gloria. The use of the hymn in the present day was mainly discussed in the fifth part of the article: Hymn Gloria and Its Use Today.

In the attached document I am sending you a corrected version of the text of my article, in which I have highlighted all the changes requested by the peer reviewers. Please see the attachment.
