The long period waves may cause the large oscillation of mooring vessels in a relatively large ports. Therefore, the aim of the paper is very important and practical. However, the indications in the sentences are not clear and the figures are not completed. Several revised requests are followed.

Revision Points:

  • Fig. 1 – Fig.3 : They are the spectrograms. Colored contour may show the intensity of spectrum density. The remark for color contour is necessary.
  • Fig. 1 – Fig.3 : The authors discuss on the infra-gravity wave components. Why not each graph has the range of long period wave ( 30s – 10min)?
  • The authors introduced the observatory in Shultz Cape in detail at Session 4. However, the information is very important to all sentences. The introduction should be moved in Session 2. Maybe Session 4 is replaced.
  • Fig.4 ; If possible, please make a map for whole trajectory of Typhoon KOMPASU.
  • Fig. 4 : Why the radius is fixed to 90km?
  • Line 113-120 ; The authors mentioned about the characteristics of short waves. Please indicate the characteristics of long period waves derived from the observation.
  • The explanation of observation equipment is not enough. An photograph of sensor may be useful to better understanding. Total observation duration should be indicated.

Revision Points:

  • Fig-4 : Why the typhoon area radius is fixed to 90km?
  • Fig-13 : The spectrum of infra-gravity wave have a sharp peak at 80s. What type of oscillation causes that peak? Please add the short comments.
