Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors present a well-conducted study on the impact of BMI to specific complications following implant-based breast reconstruction after mastectomy. The paper is interesting and well-conducted. The authors could consider including to their reference list a paper recently published in the same special issue "Challenges and Innovation in Breast Reconstruction" where BMI is analysed in relation to breast reduction:

Viscardi et al, Reduction Mammoplasty: A Ten-Year Retrospective Review of the Omega Resection Pattern Technique. J Clin Med . 2021 Sep 27;10(19):4418. doi: 10.3390/jcm10194418.

we highly appreciate the time and effort that you have dedicated on reviewing our manuscript. Thank you for suggesting an interesting paper by Viscardi et al. We included this to our reference list.

Reviewer 2 Report

In their article “BMI Specific Complications Following Implant-based Breast Reconstruction after Mastectomy” the authors evaluated the impact of the body mass index on the complication rate following breast reconstructions with implants after breast cancer related mastectomy.

The article is written very well, the results are conclusive and the discussion addresses all questions that are raised during reading the article.

Congratulations for this really well conducted and interesting to read study, that helps us to understand further factors, that may negatively affect our outcome after implant based breast reconstruction.
