Adaptive, Observer-Based Synchronization of Different Chaotic Systems
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
this paper author discusses the modelling of master-slave synchronization of two different chaotic systems. The single output of the system with single input slave system is considered. Linear transformation of some chaotic systems into ONP form is evaluated. The stability of the whole, close loop system is derived using Lyapunov method. paper is well written and novel. iu think minor revision is needed in manuscript.
- Abstract needs some important results.
- Conculsion seems to be incomplete
- more concentration on concluding remarks should be given to improve and enhance the applicability current study
- in section 7 example, Paragraph doesn't seems to completely provide what is the target after that rather then ending with "The transformation to ONP form is defined by (14) and (15). line 264" a small description of the upcoming examples should also be provided
- References needed attention some references are not correctly written.

The paper is well written and organized. The paper has interesting results which deserve to be published. I think it could be accepted for publication after a minor revision:
- The figure 1 should be clearly done;
- it would be better to compare the obtained results with know ones;

The main idea of the proposed approach is to enable cooperation between the adaptive observer and the adaptive tracking controller in a unified closed-loop system. Tracking errors feedback from the controller influence the observer improving the overall performance. Application of the tuning functions technique allows to avoid over parameterization of the whole system – the number of adaptive parameters is the same as the number of unknown parameters. As a result of filter application the ‘explosion of complexity’ in the control law is prevented.
The paper is interesting and can be considered for publication in this journal. However, I would like to point out the following:
- I kindly ask the authors to explicitly state in the Conclusion what is new in the current paper. The authors should clearly state what previous works show about this research and what their novel findings are.
- What is the importance of studying synchronization of different chaotic system? How can it help to understand the dynamics of the oscillator?
- The quality of the figures should be improved. In the current form, the numbers and labels are hardly readable.
- Number all equations to be easily captured.

The synchronization of chaotic master-slave systems is an actual and interesting subject. This paper achieves the mentioned objective by the active cooperation of the adaptive observer.
The originality of this research is obvious.
I have just a few suggestions that might improve confidence in the results presented in this research:
- A comparison with existing solutions presented in the literature is requested, in terms of accuracy and timing of chaotic master-slave systems.
- The last sentence in the Conclusions section seems incomplete.
