Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear author, your paper deals with a very interesting basic topic.

In the introduction, however, the focus is very quickly on your own problem. The problem of films in agriculture is not discussed. There is also no analysis of how other regions in the world deal with it.

There is no literature analysis and it is mostly only sources from one's own working group. The problem of degradation of films in the soil and possible residues is not discussed.

The main part is the machine and its simulation. This is a complex calculation for a simple machine. This type of machine has been around for a long time as a vibration floor. The corresponding calculations also already exist for it. Why was the simulation done?

This part needs to be better justified and also what the individual investigation brings to the machine progress. The resulting results must also be discussed.

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear authors,

The paper presents actual problem of plastics in environment. In the world, the plastics decomposes to very small microscopical particles that contaminate the underground water. These very small particles are very dangerous for the organisms because they get depth into our bodies. The contaminated water is not suitable for use as drinking water and has to be cleaned by expensive filtration process.

In description of Fig. 1, the word “Frame“ is with capital letter F.

In description of Fig. 4, the names of forces should be added.

I recommend improving quality of Fig. 4. (It is poor readable)

  1. If there are stones in soil, how the machine works?
  2. Why the angle α = 24° was selected for inclination of shovel?
  3. How the residues were separated from the soil for calculation of parameter J according to Eq. (12)?
  4. You analysed the influence of single operation parameters on quality of separation. Are there some possibilities in design of machine to improve the separation process?
