Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

It is a well designed and written article. It would recommended to address the following issues:

  1. The formatting requires refinement. Some Tables are outside the borders. There are many places when instead of a Table or a Figure name. Error messages are appearing
  2. The literature review part could add more criticism to the discussion of the existing literature
  3. The discussion part would benefit from discussing more the wider implications of the study.
  4. Not sure if Appendices are useful but if deemed important they should be referred to in the text more explicitly

Author Response

Reviewer 1

We thank reviewer 1 for his careful reading and constructive suggestions to improve the quality of the paper.

  1. The formatting requires refinement. Some Tables are outside the borders. There are many places when instead of a Table or a Figure name. Error messages are appearing.

Response: We have adjusted the tables and figures to the margins of the document, except for figures 7 and 11, because it is difficult to reduce their size to preserve their legibility. However, these exceptions are allowed according to the Applied Sciences template.

In order to prevent error messages, cross references were deleted

  1. The literature review part could add more criticism to the discussion of the existing literature

Response: A paragraph (lines 85 to 90) has been introduced in which the points not addressed in the existing studies are explained and, consequently, the reason for this study.

  1. The discussion part would benefit from discussing more the wider implications of the study

Response: The implications of the results obtained have been explained in a text added at the end of this part. (lines 686 to 697)

  1. Not sure if Appendices are useful but if deemed important they should be referred to in the text more explicitly.

Response: We believe that the appendices are necessary since they present the buildings and floors that have been used for the simulations. This information is not presented within the body of the article in order to facilitate its reading.

Within the article we have improved the way in which the annexes are referred to. (lines 208 to 210) and (297 to 298).

Reviewer 2 Report

1-Abstract and conclusion should be short and concise.

2- Units superscript should be added properly.

3-Overall language proof reading is required.
