- Presence of exposed bone (or bone that can be probed through an intraoral or extraoral fistula) in the maxillofacial region for a period of 8 weeks.
- Current or previous treatment with antiresorptive agents (bisphosphonates or denosumab) or antiangiogenic agents.
- No history of radiotherapy or metastatic disease in the jaw.
