Abstract
:1. Introduction
- Does participation in a short intensive online entrepreneurial program with a learning-by-doing approach increase the entrepreneurial intention, entrepreneurial characteristics (entrepreneurial attitude, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, entrepreneurial mindset, core self-evaluation) and entrepreneurial skills (creativity, financial literacy, marshaling of resources, planning, teamwork) of the participating students?
- Is the effect of the entrepreneurial program on the participants’ entrepreneurial intention, characteristics and skills affected by gender?
- Is the effect of the entrepreneurial program on the participants’ entrepreneurial intention, characteristics and skills affected by their educational level?
- Is the effect of the entrepreneurial program on the participants’ entrepreneurial intention, characteristics and skills affected by their entrepreneurial background?
- Is the effect of the entrepreneurial program on the participants’ entrepreneurial intention, characteristics and skills affected by the type of project?

3.1. Program Description
- Duration: The program lasts a few weeks;
- Intensity: All the activities are carried out day-by-day by the participants, in a short amount of days;
- Online: Activities are carried out remotely;
- Academic background: Students from different areas of engineering are involved;
- University: The participants come from European technical universities belonging to the Unite! network;
- Education level: The program involves both Master’s and PhD students;
- Support offered by Inventors and Founders: The inventors of technologies and founders of entrepreneurial ideas are involved in the development of the projects;
- Entrepreneurial background: The participants should be quite heterogeneous, in terms of previous experience related to participation in entrepreneurship programs;
- Entrepreneurial project: The participants have the opportunity to work on either patented academic technologies or ideas proposed by students.
