Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Manuscript ID: societies-2953925 titled „Transforming the Creative and Social Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: the Broker Roles of Rural Collaborative Workspaces” deals with a timely and highly relevant topic, as CWSs can be a social and economic force in rural areas through their activities in promoting local development, as the study highlights. CWSs can make a powerful contribution to the competitive and sustainable development of rural localities. As socio-economic development is accompanied by an increase in complexity and interdependence, the management of relationships between the various actors and resources becomes of paramount importance, and CWSs established and operating in rural areas can be of great help in this respect. Through their activities, emergences can be created that can generate added value and synergies.

The study provides a very good understanding and illustration of the roles and functions of the CWS under study and their contribution to the functioning of enterprises and the development of the creative and social entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The study is a very useful, well structured, well written and coherent work. The methods used are appropriate, the results contribute to the scientific dialogue, have added value and the conclusions are forward-looking.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

I revised the manuscript "Transforming the Creative and Social Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: the Broker Roles of Rural Collaborative Workspaces" for publication in the Societies journal. Thank you, the Editor and authors, for giving me this great opportunity.

The well-structured manuscript presents convincing results relevant to creative and social entrepreneurial ecosystems. However, some minor revisions need to be addressed before publication.

The first one concerns the introduction. The literature gap the article is trying to fill is not completely clear. If I were you, I would better frame the research questions within the literature.

The literature review on rural entrepreneurial ecosystems of social enterprises is well-structured. However, it would be beneficial to include a brief literature review on the concept and meaning of social enterprises, considering the article's focus on this specific type of social enterprise. I recommend referencing the following works: Doherty, B., Haugh, H., & Lyon, F. (2014). Social enterprises as hybrid organizations: A review and research agenda. International journal of management reviews, 16(4), 417-436, Defourny, J., & Nyssens, M. (2008). Social enterprise in Europe: recent trends and developments. Social Enterprise Journal, 4(3), 202-228.

There are no other comments for the rest of the article. Please benefit from these comments to improve your manuscript.
