Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear Authors,

I read the MS titled "Identification and spread of the Ghost Silverfish  (Ctenolepisma calvum) among museums and homes in Europe" with interest. This is a nice addition/update of the non-native range and distribution history of C. calvum. I see the merit of the study. There are my comments and suggestions highlighted directly in the PDF copy. These are easy to be followed and thus, I recommend the acceptance for publication after minor revision.

Sincerely

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors present the novel data on the spread as well as reviewed the invasion history of C. calvum. The study is generally well written and scientifically sound. Anyway, I have a few comments, which may be considered to improve the quality of the manuscript.

1. the limitations of the study should be added to the discussion

2. authors may add some figures containing morphological patterns

3. authors should unify the names of silverfish throughout the text. They sometimes use scientific names, sometimes common names, sometimes both. In the tables, they also use old version of the name (femine - calva etc.).

The other comments are in the attached documents.
