The Number and Habitat Use of Mesopredators Based on the Camera Trapping and Location of Burrows in Hungary
Abstract
1. Introduction
Hypotheses
- Most of the inhabited burrows are used by red foxes.
- The observed litter size of the studied predator species is approximately the same as that reported in the previously published national (Hungary) data.
- Habitat composition significantly influences burrow use, differing between burrows inhabited with cubs, inhabited burrows without cubs, and random points.
