The writing structure of this paper is clear, the research method is straightforward, the research conclusions are certainly innovative, and there are new knowledge contributions to the scientific field.

The specific comments are proposed as follows:

 

1. In section 2.1.1, please clarify how the parameter setting difference of area ratio is determined.

2. In section 2.1.2, please identify the definition of landscape shape index (LSI), and illustrate the diverse data of LSI in the six cases.

3. Please explain why the water body parameters with an area ratio of 16% should be selected as the simulation object instead of water body parameters of other proportions.

4. In addition, this paper only simulates the influence changes of different water body areas and does not discuss the degree of different water body depths on the heat island effect. Please add relevant simulation instructions for water depth.

5. In L317, there is a typo that 4.1 should be 4.2 The effect of waterfront green space type on the cooling effect.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6. Please explain the limitations of this research method. For example, it only uses a single form of microscopic simulation data and does not use on-site measurement and remote sensing monitoring for data comparison and analysis.

7. There are limited references in the literature, and it is suggested to supplement the essential work of previous research in determining parameter indicators.

This manuscript has analyzed the cooling effect of urban landscape water on the local thermal environment, which is a quite important topic with lots of research in this field. I have some general questions which need to be addressed before it can be accepted.

1.       Please have a thorough check to ensure that the manuscript should be written in sound English, including the abstract.

2.       The introduction section should be reorganized, what are the links between each paragraph?

3.       What are the novelties and objectives of this study? Please describe it clearly!

4.       In addition, are there some spatial differences from region to region? For example, Beijing and Tibet?
