Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper summarized recent development of gold catalyzed hydrofunctionalization of alkynes. The scope of alkynes and nucleophiles as well as effects of ligands, oxidation states, and counteranions are clearly described. This article is interesting and useful for readers in the field of catalytic chemistry and organic chemistry. This referee recommends this contribution for publication in Catalysts.

Reviewer 2 Report

This manuscript entitled: „Gold-catalyzed intermolecular alkyne hydrofunctionalizations; mechanistic insights“ summarizes the results obtained from the field of gold-catalyzed hydrofunctionalization of alkynes. The article is divided into several parts. after the introductory part, attention is paid to hydration, hydroalkoxylation, hydroamination, hydroarylation, hydrocarboxylation and hydrohalogenation of alkynes. Personally, I consider the manuscript to be extremely important for the chemical community, because it deals mainly with mechanistic features, the influence of ligands, the influence of reaction conditions, etc. The manuscript is logically arranged without significant errors. Therefore, I recommend it for publication in catalysts.
