why do you expect lutein will have a effect on PT and PTF, because it can cleave by mammalian carotenoid oxygenases? but PT and PTF are not a product of these CCDs.

Point 1. Few typos
Response: Typing errors in those lines have been corrected and, we have corrected others throughout the manuscript.
Point 2. why do you expect lutein will have a effect on PT and PTF, because it can cleave by mammalian carotenoid oxygenases? but PT and PTF are not a product of these CCDs.
Response: The present study included data and samples from participants in a couple of previous studies (observational and intervention). Thus, this study was performed in 101 participants enrolled in a previous observational study to assess lutein and zeaxanthin dietary and status markers. In a next step, from this group we established two subgroups and those volunteers (n=29) participated in a four-week dietary intervention study with fruit or vegetable rich in lutein.
Answering your question, we did not expect an effect of lutein intake on PT and PTF nutritional status markers. We aimed to contribute with data on PT and PTF in several status markers and in the dietary intake in healthy adults because there is very little data on these carotenoids that are biologically active.
