Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the effects of maternal overweight and obesity on the concentrations of macronutrients in human milk. This study was well performed.

Reviewer 2 Report

This is an extremely well done and valuable systematic review and meta analysis on human milk composition of macronutrients related to maternal BMI. It is clearly written.  The meaning of the data reviewed and summary statements are well developed and presented with lack of bias.

I found this to be one of the best systematic reviews I have read.  It is an important contribution to the field and opens up many new areas of inquiry that could potentially lead to interventions.
