Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The authors described how they use satellite data from ICESat-2, Sentinel-2, and GF-1 to derive shallow water depths in 2-meter spatial resolution around islands in the Pacific Ocean. It would be clearer to the audience if the authors add the details about why and how they combine ICESat-2 and Sentinel-2 data. If both ICESat-2 and Sentinel-2 data are used for QPRM Fitting, should the validation data also include both data? Can the authors add more discussion on the bias, variances and outliers shown in the Figure 5 and 6? What are the limitations for the proposed method? For example, does the method require high transparency of the water column? What are the accuracies of the method for different water depths?
