Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThe present research paper is devoted to find relevant correlations between nature exposure and subjective well-being. Moreover, it elucidates the role of connectedness of nature and awe within this relationship by means of a highly accurate methodology. The results underscore the significant impact that cognitive and emotional engagement with nature has on enhancing subjective well-being so to make the “biophilia hypotheses” stronger. Awe as a self-transcendent emotion favors a fruitful sense of self-diminishment and the inclusion in a larger ecosystem stimulates the rising of fundamental issues about the sense of human life. Moreover, the reduced focus on the oneself facilitates a greater sense of communitarian belonging.
I think that the paper is ready to be published to give an original contribution to the ongoing debate.
